Bethesda SC Dominates All-Met Boys' Soccer: Player of Year & 1st, 2nd & HM Teams

Congratulations to Bethesda Soccer Club's Older Boys Players Selected to All-Met (Coach: Brett Colton)

Bethesda Soccer Club dominates All-Met with Twelve players selected and receiving accolades from the Washington Post Sports Writers for the Fall Season 2012.  

The Washington Post collected nominations from over 250 High Schools across the DC Region and selected the Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, 1st, 2nd, Honorable Mentions Best Teams for All-Met Fall 2012 Soccer. According to the Washington Post.com All-Met Teams website, High School players and athletes have been honored since 1990.  

Player of the Year and All-Met 1st Team - Nicholas 'Nicko' Corriveau, Gonzaga High School Senior Forward  
Dynamic striker has a well-earned reputation as one of the area's top scoring threats over past three seasons, scoring 40 goals in that span (11 goals, 13 assists in 2012), cementing his place as one of the most decorated players in program history. A 2012 NSCAA all-American, Corriveau's speed and exceptional ball-handling made the difference during Gonzaga's wins over four nationally ranked opponents en route to an 18-1-1 record and the WCAC championship. Corriveau will play for University of Virginia in Fall 2013.

All-Met 1st Team
All-Met 1st Team
Christopher Odoi-Atsem,  DeMatha High School Senior. Mid Fielder. Co-WCAC Player of the Year, 2012 All-Gazette boys soccer team, Prince George's County Player of the Year ; had a goal or assist in each of Stags’ four games vs. nationally ranked foes. The catalyst of the Stags' offense, Odoi-Atsem propelled DeMatha to the WCAC championship match where Gonzaga bested DeMatha in penalty kicks. The Maryland-bound senior scored eight goals and assisted seven more in also taking home co-WCAC Player of the Year honors. Odoi-Atsem will play for University of Maryland in Fall 2013.

All-Met 1st Team - Wesley Suggs, DeMatha High School Senior Defender, .Physical player and core of a defense that gave up just four goals, with 14 shutouts. Suggs will play for University of Virginia in Fall 2013.

All-Met 1st Team-Samson Summerlin, Wootton High School Senior Defender. After leading Patriots in scoring as junior, moved to defense this fall and excelled. Committed to George Washington University.

All-Met 2nd Team & Honorable Mentions  
All-Met 2nd Team – Crispin Muessle, Winston Churchill High School Senior Mid Fielder. Muessle will play for Bucknell University

All-Met Honorable Mention-   Arion Assue 
All-Met Honorable Mention - Zachary Fingerhut Commited to Wake Forest 2014
All-Met Honorable Mention- William Kerr, Jr. 
All-Met Honorable Mention -  Ryan Massey

All-Met Honorable Mention- Zachary Tamen Commited to Colgate University 2013

About Bethesda Soccer Club 
Bethesda Soccer Club is a Premier Travel and Youth Development Program based in Montgomery County, Maryland, outside Washington DC, with over 30 years of soccer excellence.  Bethesda Soccer Club started as three teams in 1979, competing as the Bethesda Boys Club. Today, they have over 60 boys’ and girls’ teams from ages U-8 through U-19 that compete in various leagues in Maryland, Virginia and Region I. Many of our players have gone on to have successful collegiate or professional careers. 

The Club philosophy is to develop our players so that they are prepared to compete at the next level.
